Arctic Winter Games (AWG) is the world's largest multi sports and cultural event for young people in the Arctic. AWG settled in a week's time and held every two years alternating hosting between regions or countries. AWG celebrates sports, social interaction and culture. AWG create awareness of cultural diversity and develop athletes in competitions with a focus on fair play. AWG binds the Arctic countries together and includes traditional games such as Arctic Sports and Dene Games.Deltagerlande to AWG are: Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Nunavik, Alberta, Sapmi, Yamal and Greenland.
